Much like the traditional grounds of Roland-Garros at the French Open, tennis at Pinecliffe is played on classic red clay courts, two of which are lighted for night play.
Not only do our courts provide a unique and fun surface for our campers, but the slow bounce is particularly conducive to both learning and training. Personal instruction, with never more than four campers per court, enables both the beginner and expert to improve their game throughout the summer. Older campers are given the opportunity to further improve their tennis skills by attending daily rest-hour drills with our instructors.
Pinecliffe’s inter-camp tennis team continues to be one of the best in the region, participating in many inter-camp matches and invitational tournaments at summer camps throughout Maine. The skill and age level of these competitions varies, giving many of our campers a chance to participate. We offer additional instructional tennis for our campers competing on the inter-camp teams.
