Pinecliffe offers a variety of opportunities within the performing arts, encompassing drama, dance and music.
Each age group produces its own play or musical. We encourage every camper to participate, whether it’s on the stage or helping with scenery and costume design. Our 14 year olds, the Jungle, perform the largest and most anticipated production of the summer, The Jungle Revue. With support of counselors, they create an originally themed and choreographed production. Our dance program currently emphasizes not only traditional dance, but also hip-hop and modern dance.
I was at my daughter’s show and she performed a song that we had used as a tune one year for the Captain song at banquet. It brought back so many wonderful memories of Pinecliffe and Color War. The Elephant and the Teddy will also have a special place in my heart.
Singing is an integral part of life at our girls camp, with songs specially designated for morning assembly, campfires, banquet and team competition. One of the highlights every summer is the all-camp sing competition between the Brown and Blue teams. During this event, each team writes original songs: One for Pinecliffe, One for their Team, and a fight song.
