Special Events

Throughout the summer there are several special events involving the entire girls camp, both campers and counselors. Many of these events are themed and several are organized and run by the campers themselves.

4th of July

The 4th of July is camp’s first, and biggest, special event held each summer. Early on the morning of the 4th, our Senior Lodge, and some staff members, participate in the annual Bridgton, Maine “4 on the 4th” Road Race. Summer camps from all over the area participate in this traditional, small-town, four mile run. Back at Pinecliffe, the rest of camp enjoys a lazy-day sleep-in. The entire camp dresses in Red, White, and Blue throughout the day.

We have a flag raising ceremony in the morning and commence our Color War with the first cheer down of the season and first team game. The afternoon is a camp-wide event, where teams consisting of campers of all ages and staff members, compete in various activities around camp. Dinner is a traditional Fourth of July BBQ and the evening activity is the first Capture the Flag game of the summer.

Other Events

Other special events throughout the summer include Backwards Day, Camp Sister Beach Day, and All Camp Beach Day. We also have special events run by campers including Pine Takeover, Evergreen Event, Crystal Carnival, and Ten Day Calendar.
